Little did I know of John C. Maxwell, even though I quoted him in my book, iPOSSIBLE®!
Not until I met him LIVE!
As John ended on stage, you could see the exhilaration in his face, the emotion in his voice and some tears in his eyes. This was his passion. Impactful. Etched clearly in my mind and heart.
He has not lost it after so many years!
It was only after stepping out as Executive Vice President of the Singapore Exchange to pursue my passion that I researched John. It dawned on me that what he has fitted right in! My renewed purpose is to inspire, influence and impact lives and organizations to help change destinies — as I live out the unlimited possibilities given by God with passion, love, guts and adventure!
My encounter with “John Maxwell live” has been a major and unforgettable lesson.
I have seen firsthand a man who exemplifies:
- Leadership with a big heart,
- Immense humility,
- Incredible ability to connect from stage, and
- Transformational vision.
I’ve discovered and learnt so much seeing, observing and hearing John. If only I could roll back the years and discover all this much earlier. It would have made me a far better man, leader and business person! And if leaders could know what many have yet to know, wow, what a bigger difference they would make to their results, people, organisation and world.

But this not about John Maxwell. It’s about you. WHO are you?
You and I too have huge possibilities, regardless of circumstances. We are the pinnacle of God’s creation. And He doesn’t make junk!
Remember I had quoted John Maxwell in my book without having met, known or really read him? Here it is from my chapter on Leadership in iPOSSIBLE®:
“Every person has a longing to be significant; to make a contribution; to be a part of something noble and purposeful.”
What you are today is the product of the decisions and actions of your past. So, the decisions and actions of today will create what you will be in the future. If you are not 100% pleased with the man or woman you are today, then you can do something about it today to change your tomorrows. Insanity is doing the same thing and yet expecting a different result. One year repeated many times isn’t experience.
So hand-to-heart, can you say you have grown and changed as much as you possibly can to be the best version of yourself? Do you have a game plan for personal development and growth to live your best life? Do you know where you are headed, what to do, how to alter course, and where to begin?
May I encourage you to be re-inspired to live your best life. Lead yourself with renewed intentionality, grow your strengths, team-up with like-minded people, and break-out of your zone to use your sharpened gifts to fulfill a higher purpose. Each of us is capable of greatness! The best is yet ahead.
